Notification came out through a middle school e-mail blast to 8th grade parents.  No big deal.  The notice, available by clicking HERE, notes the evening's events start at 5:30 in the auditorium.  You may also want to take a closer look at the course catalog, available by clicking HERE.

Pay special attention to Page 5 which details course requirements for the district.  Note the other requirements for schools such as Illinois State University, University of Illinois – Chicago, and University of Illinois – Champaign.  NOT EVERY UNIVERSITY requires foreign (world) language as a prerequisite for admission, so if you (and/or your child) are predisposed to a particular college or university, be sure to check out requirements.

On a side note, I spoke with a counselor at PSHS who informed me the only high school in Plainfield SD 202 that provides American Sign Language as a course is Plainfield Central.  If you are as bothered about this as I am, you may want to reach out to the district and building leaders – Dr. Lane Abrell, Mr. Glenn Wood, Dr. Dan McDonald, and Mr. Bob Yanello.
