Illinois Lt. Gov. Submits Final Report on Consolidation & Unfunded Mandates

It certainly makes for an interesting read, but if you are curious about the more than 145 unfunded mandates impacting education in Illinois since 1992 (the year I graduated high school), you'll want to specifically look at pages 2-10.  A summary of surveys given to school districts can be found on pages 78-81, and highlight the projected fiscal impacts of unfunded mandates on school districts.  Finally, there is also a section addressing requirements in the statutes (105 ILCS 5/7-1 and 5/7-2a to 5/7-30) that adddresses the possibility of school districts going through the process of annexation or dissolution.  Click HERE to see the full 406 page report.
